July Meeting On July 12, we will be meeting at Nichols Paper and Supply’s facility in Spring Lake – a facility that was just awarded LEED EB Gold status (becoming the 7th LEED for Existing Building in the state of Michigan and the first in their industry in the state) last week. There, we will have a roundtable discussion with Industry Leaders on Eco-Design/Cradle to Cradle Design. Confirmed participants include Rick Post of Padnos, Michael Taylor of Steelcase, and Eric VanDellen of Alticor. More information and instructions for registering are below. Membership renewals As you know, the WMSBF is funded almost entirely by its members’ annual membership fees. To continue providing you and the community the programs, opportunities, and tools that you enjoy, it is important that all members wishing to renew do so as soon as possible each year. All memberships are based on the calendar year, beginning in January. If you have yet to renew membership for 2010 and wish to, please take a moment and do so. If you have questions as to your membership status, please feel free to contact me. 2010 Go green Golf Outing The “Go Green” golf outing is a scholarship fund raising event designed to raise $5,000 in support of our annual Sustainability Scholarship. The purpose of this scholarship is to encourage students to integrate sustainability into their particular discipline and seek ways in which it may be infused into their institution’s curriculum. The event is a best ball scramble will be held at a Quail Ridge Golf Course located in Ada, Michigan. A member of the Turf Grass Association, this course is environmentally friendly and will help stimulate some great green walking and talking as we look to support a worthwhile cause…supporting sustainability education. The cost of participating is $75 per golfer or $300 for teams of four. Sponsorship opportunities at each of the holes are available ranging from $250 (which includes one golfer) to $1000 (which includes two golfers and sponsorship of the driving range). If you would like to attend this meeting, you must register by email at info@wmsbf.org by Wednesday, July 7. Cost of attending is $10. There is a $10 fee, payable by cash or check at the event. Credit card payments may be made prior to the event through PayPal (no PayPal account is necessary) here. A $1 additional processing charge is included for credit card payments.
