GRAND RAPIDS – The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum (WMSBF) will be holding its fourth annual “Go Green” Golf Outing on August 10, 2009 at Quail Ridge Golf Course in Ada, Michigan. The golf outing is the sole funding event for the organization’s sustainability scholarship program. In the past two years, the WMSBF provided four $5000 scholarships to students studying sustainability at local universities. “Our awards have been given to very talented students,” said scholarship committee co-chair Gabe Wing of Herman Miller, “Each year we receive a number of excellent applications and it is a very hard decision to select the winner. The WMSBF is honored to support these outstanding students.” Registration for this golf-scramble event costs $75 and those interested may either register with a team or be placed on one. Sponsorship of holes is also available for companies interested in supporting this cause. Those who are not members of the WMSBF are welcome to register. Registration materials can be found at the WMSBF website, www.wmsbf.org. “This is a an opportunity for our community to enjoy a game of golf while networking and raising money for deserving students,” said WMSBF president Marylu Dykstra Door prizes will also be given away at a luncheon immediately following the outing.
