WEST MICHIGAN SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS FORUM TO HOST “MEET THE EXPERTS” EVENT AT KENTWOOD OFFICE FURNITURE

GRAND RAPIDS – The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum (WMSBF) will be hosting a “Meet the Experts” session at Kentwood Office Furniture on September 14, 2009.  The session will provide those in attendance with an opportunity to participate in small group discussions on specific sustainability topics with local experts in their fields.

“This is a key opportunity to gather practical information that will help you reduce costs, kick start sustainability activities or move your efforts to the next level,” Said Marylu Dykstra, WMSBF Board President.  Multiple, concurrent and rotating sessions will allow attendees to spend time with a least three different topic tables to discuss: Environmental Management Systems, Product Design & Development, Facilities, Energy, Logistics, Marketing, and Remanufacturing.

The WMSBF will also have updates on the progress of the next, web-based, version of our Self-Assessment Guide and details on the soon-to-be released Energy Guide and WMSBF Resources Directory.  We hope to roll out all of these tools in the coming months.

The meeting will be from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm on September 14 at Kentwood Office Furniture, located at 3063 Breton Ave SE in Grand Rapids.  Space is limited.  Those wishing to attend this meeting must register by email to info@wmsbf.org by Wednesday, September 9.   The public is welcome.  There is no charge for first-time guests to our monthly meetings.

The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum membership represents a broad cross-section of large area industries and small businesses. Together, we are dedicated to developing the expertise and the means necessary to achieve our triple bottom line objective. We strive to expand and share our knowledge base through monthly meetings featuring guest speakers, periodic seminars and conferences, and special projects.  Monthly meetings are held in rotating locations.  More information about us can be found on our website: www.wmsbf.org.
