We will begin to capture the collection of our energy, vision and creativity that will help us move toward a conscious design — a design moving us to further sustainability in the region.

The West Michigan Sustainable Business Forum, and other partners are convening this daylong conversation, will be held from 8 a.m.-2:30 p.m., at Aquinas College’s Wege Center. Thanks to grant funding by the Tipping Point Network and the support of our host, the Center for Sustainability at Aquinas College, there is no registration fee, but all participants will be expected to engage others as we map our assets and activities – there will be several, small, break-out sessions and opportunities to discuss with similarly-minded organizations.

More information can be found on the WMSBF website.  A follow-up email to this mailing list will also be going out in the coming days.

SEPTEMBER MEETING

There are still some seats available to next week's Meet the Experts event at Kentwood Office Furniture.  Please remember that registration is required if you are planning to attend.  If you have not received a confirmation of your registration -- you are not registered.  Members are invited to invite a first-time guest from a non-member company to this meeting.  In doing so, you will be able to use this coupon to attend free yourself.

If you would like to attend this meeting, you must register by email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it by Wednesday, September 9.  Cost of attending is $10.

MEETING FEES AND REGISTRATION

As you know, we collect a $10 meeting fee at each month's event.  These fees help cover the costs (which range up to $15 per person) incurred each month.  Through July, our monthly meeting luncheon expenses for 2009 totaled $4,410.40.  We collected $2,839.00 in meeting fees from those in attendance.  The fees allow smaller organizations to host a meeting, to cover the costs for guests and to help offset the difference between actual costs and anticipated expenses.  Regardless, there is a gap between anticipated and actual costs...so here's how you can help:

1.       Register in advance for a meeting

2.       Indicate if you are bringing guests

Additionally, consider sponsoring a meeting, in whole, or in part.  Doing so will result in publicity of your organization's generosity as well as the opportunity to address the group and/or assist with program development for the event.

SOCIAL NETWORKING SITES

To provide an additional networking opportunity for all of us, the WMSBF now has pages set up on Facebook and LinkedIn.  If you are on either of these social networking sites, feel free to join!
